LG receives trademark protection for its flagship phones' names through 2020 
LG apparently expects to continue using the LG Gx moniker for its future flagship handsets. The company filed with the USPTO for trademarks covering the LG G3, LG G4, LG G5, LG G6, LG G7, LG G8 and the LG G9 names last August. Now, LG has received USPTO protection for the trademarks covering all of the names it filed for. If LG continues to use the same naming process for its flagship model, it is now covered through 2020. By the time 2021 comes around, the manufacturer might have a better idea than simply calling its new handset the LG G10.
