16GB Silk White OnePlus One listed on Amazon India priced at $306; still "invite only"

Amazon India and OnePlus released a teaser the other day, which hinted that the 16GB Silk White OnePlus One would soon be listed on Amazon India's website. Despite the listing on the site, an invitation is still required to purchase the phone. Apparently, using an invitation for the 64GB Sandstone variant of the phone, a back door method was used to obtain pricing on the cheaper model.

Amazon India is selling the 16GB Silk White OnePlus One for the equivalent of $306 USD. The 64GB Sandstone version is priced at the equivalent of $354 USD. Remember, the phone does not offer a microSD slot so choose your model accordingly.

OnePlus has had issues with the New Delhi courts. Cyanogen, whose version of Android 4.4 powers the One, had signed an exclusive deal for India with local smartphone manufacturer Micromax. This originally led to a ban on the OnePlus One in the country. However, the court reversed the ban once it realized that the Cyanogen flavored Yu handsets produced by Micromax were entry-level models compared to the flagship spec'd OnePlus One.

By pricing the Silk White model for $306, OnePlus undercuts Xiaomi whose flagship Xiaomi Mi 4 has been selling in India for $322 USD. Source
