Kodak's IM5 Android smartphone could be launched in late March / early April
Kodak last month announced its very first smartphone, the Kodak IM5, saying that it would launch it this quarter - first in Europe, and then in the US. Now, British retailer Clove has it that the handset should be in stock starting late March / early April in the UK, costing £189.98 (around €255).
The IM5 is manufactured by Bullitt (known for making rugged CAT-branded smartphones), and is a mid-range device that runs Android KitKat with a "custom built, intuitive user interface." Kodak says that the handset makes it easy to take, store, share and print photos, thanks to its 13 MP rear camera that's aided by " unique image management software." There's also a 5 MP camera on the front. Sporting a 5-inch 720p display, the Kodak IM5 further features a "dedicated app store with hand-picked selection of apps" (in addition to access to Google Play), an octa-core MediaTek processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal memory, and microSD card support.
In the US, the Kodak IM5 should cost $249. However, it's not clear where, and neither exactly when you'll be able to buy one. But we'll let you know when we find out. Source
