Intex Aqua X launched in India for Rs. 2,699

Intex Aqua X launched in India for Rs. 2,699

We joked that Intex had been kind of quite lately, and now it seems like the joke’s on us. The company has dropped more smartphones in the past month than some companies do in a year, and you can add one more to that list with the Intex Aqua X.

The first smartphone Intex rolled out this year was the Intex Aqua A1, and the Intex Aqua X is comparable to that midranger in name only. The A1 was low-spec’d with a 4-inch display and 512MB of RAM, but the Intex Aqua X drops the midrange bar even lower.

The Intex Aqua X sports a 3.5-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 320 x 480. The processor is listed as a dual-core SoC clocked at 1.3GHz, and you’ll find 256MB of RAM under the hood as well. Oddly enough, there is no mention of the storage space or a microSD card slot, but we’re guessing you’ll have 4GB to work with.

As lowly as the Intex Aqua X is, it still has cameras and the rear snapper uses a 2MP sensor while the front-facing camera is listed as having a 0.3MP camera. Connectivity options include WiFi, Bluetooth, GPRS/EDGE, and AGPS. The dual-SIM handset gets its juice from a 1,200mAh battery and runs Android 4.4.2 out of the box.

The Intex Aqua X may sport some of the lowest specs in town, but it will still get the job done and the price is tough to beat. The Intex Aqua X is priced at Rs. 2,899 in India which comes out to around $46 in US greenbacks. If you’re interested in picking up Intex’s new handset, it’s listed on Flipkart, and should be available soon. Source
