Pre-orders starting in Malayasia for ZTE Blade S6

Phone buyers in Malaysia can now pre-order the ZTE Blade S6 for the equivalent of $262 USD. The device is being offered by Lazada.com and will be delivered 10 to 14 business days after the order is received. Right off the bat, we should point out that the handset comes with Android 5.0 right out of the box, and the handset supports 4G LTE connectivity.

The ZTE Blade S6 features a 5-inch screen with resolution of 720 x 1280. That works out to a 294ppi pixel density. A 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 CPU is under the hood with the Adreno 405 GPU handling graphics. 2GB of RAM is onboard along with 16GB of native storage. Those requiring more memory can take advantage of the 32GB capacity microSD slot. A 13MP Sony IMX214 camera can be found on the back and a 5MP wide angle "selfie snapper" adorns the front of the unit. A 2040mAh battery keeps the lights on.

The ZTE N919D launches in India for Rs. 6,999

The ZTE N919D launches in India for Rs. 6,999

We’ve spent quite a bit of time talking about ZTE smartphones like the ZTE Blade S6 and Max series. The company has also started launching more handsets globally, and the budget friendly ZTE N919D has just touched down in India for Rs. 6,999.

ZTE’s devices cover a lot of ground, and the ZTE N919D falls into midrange territory with its 5-inch FWVGA display. Powering the smartphone is a quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon and the standard 1GB of RAM. The storage capacity is listed at 4GB, but expandable up to 32GB.

The ZTE N919D packs a solid 8MP sensor on the back while a 0.3MP snapper takes care of your selfies.  The 2,500mAh battery should provide plenty of juice, and connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, FM Radio, GPRS/EDGE, WiFi and GPS/A-GPS. As for the dimensions, it’s not necessarily svelte at 143.5mm x 72mm x 10.15mm with a weight of 165.5 grams. The dual-SIM handset will unfortunately run Android 4.1 out of the box although we’re sure it will eventually get an upgrade.

If you want a high-powered smartphone, the ZTE N919D is obviously not going to be for you, but it’s fairly cheap at Rs. 6,999 which is around $112. That said, there are better options out there for the price considering the specs and outdated OS. If you are interested in the ZTE N919D, it’s available through Ebay.in. Source

ZTE Grand X Max+ Review

ZTE Grand X Max+ Review

Introduction

Fighting in the high-end category of the US smartphone market isn’t necessarily in the pipelines for ZTE, but they’re setting their sights on the entry-level segment. In several years past, ZTE’s line of devices have been relegated to nothing more than these poorly-made, cheap-feeling devices that normally have been rebranded using carrier names – like the AT&T Avail. More recently, however, ZTE has taken appropriate measures in showing consumers that they’re able to deliver quality, entry-level devices that compete nicely against companies with more brand recognition. We’ve seen that ourselves with the ZTE ZMAX over the busy holiday season, but it’s continuing to pick up even more steam with its latest device in the ZTE Grand X Max+.

The package contains:

microUSB cable
Wall charger
Quick start guide
Terms of service

Design
For an inexpensively priced phone, the ZTE Grand X Max+ feels solid.

Gone is that reputation of making cheap-cheap phones, as the ZTE Grand X Max+ impressively delivers a design that’s not only attractive for an inexpensively priced phone, but it’s also solid in construction to give it the qualities of a high-end device. Indeed, it’s certainly a beefy sized phone, one that requires a wider grip to handle, but for something so grand in size, it somehow manages to sport a relatively svelte profile (0.31-inches) and lightweight feel (172 gr). Mostly constructed from plastic, the uniform nature of its construction is accentuated by the glass covering both the front and back sides of the phone – plus, the carbon fiber-like pattern of the rear adds some style points to the phone.

Its overall size is enough to classify it as a phablet, but it’s certainly not that type of smartphone because of the basic package it offers. Looking around the sides of the phone, it features a 3.5mm headset jack, microphone, microUSB port, SIM slot, microSD slot, volume controls, and a power button. Rounding things out, the rest of its package includes a 13-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and a front-facing 5-megapixel one. yoursalephone

Cheap ZTE Blade L3 coming soon, Android Lollipop in tow

Cheap ZTE Blade L3 coming soon, Android Lollipop in tow

Not long after we saw the ZTE Blade S6, which runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, here we have another ZTE-made smartphone which comes with the latest version of Android pre-installed: the Blade L3.

Like the S6, the Blade L3 - pictured above - sports a 5-inch display, though its resolution is a lower one: 540 x 960 pixels. Its processor is also weaker: instead of the octa-core Snapdragon 615 that's powering the Blade S6, the L3 uses a quad-core MediaTek MT6582M CPU clocked at 1.3 GHz. The new Blade further features an 8 MP rear camera, 2 MP front-facing camera, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal memory, and a 2000 mAh battery. Of course, all this means the L3 will be significantly cheaper than the S6, which is expected to cost around $250.

While ZTE doesn't say when and where the Blade L3 will be released, the company mentions that the handset has several color variants, including " unique pearlescent colors." Sounds fancy.

All in all, it seems that we should get used to seeing only Lollipop (or OSes based on it) running on newly-announced Android smartphones. Here's hoping. Source

ZTE Blade S6 outed as the first Android with octa-core Snapdragon and Lollipop

ZTE Blade S6 outed as the first Android with octa-core Snapdragon and Lollipop

Value-for-money lovers, rejoice, as today is the day. Apple might have announced a quarter for the books, but its smartphones' prices aren't for everyone, and for all the rest there are the up-and-coming Chinese phone makers, which are encroaching on everybody's turf now with great propositions.

Meizu just announced its $112 Blue Charm midranger, and ZTE strikes back with a bit more souped-up and elegant handset for still a pretty low price. The ZTE Blade S6 (don't ask why they called it that, but we have a hunch) flaunts a 5" laminated HD display, an octa-core 64-bit Snapdragon 615 chipset, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage plus microSD slot, and a 13 MP rear camera plus a 5 MP wide-angle front cam. All of it is backed by a 2400 mAh battery pack, and is running the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop.

ZTE Blade S6 has more aces up its sleeve, though, such as a fairly elegant 144 x 70.7 x 7.7mm body, Hi-fi sound with dedicated audio processor, and what ZTE calls Smart Sense - a clever set of gestures that can turn your flashlight on with a flick of the wrist, for example. The phone will be available from AliExpress starting February 10th, with a more global rollout on February 27th, for the suggested retail price for the western market of $250 off-contract. ZTE promises it will be shipping it from UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Hong Kong, too. Any takers? ZTE
