Sony's Xperia Z4 Tablet (with 2K display) mistakenly revealed ahead of MWC 2015

Sony's Xperia Z4 Tablet (with 2K display) mistakenly revealed ahead of MWC 2015

Whilst Sony's Xperia Z4 smartphone may not be introduced inside the close to long term, it‘s such as we're visiting notice a good Xperia Z4 Pill in MWC 2015 in a few days.

Sony mistakenly revealed the actual Z4 Pill withinside the official Xperia Lounge software, even if this rapidly removed any kind of proof from the slate's living.

Fortuitously, XperiaBlog saved a few screenshots, that show the Z4 Pill will certainly be very skinny, sporting the 2K show (likely along with 1440 x 2560, or even 1600 x 2560 pixels ). Sony is actually mentioning the slate attributes top battery overall efficiency, and also the latest ultra quick processor (all of us assume this can be a 64-bit, octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 ).

Not really lengthy ago, all of us heard the Z4 Tablets show will be a ten. 1-inch 1. Additional features ought to embrace 4 GB associated with RAM, 32 GB associated with expandable internal memory, as well as Android 5. 0 Lollipop. Such as Sony's earlier slates (as well as the actual Xperia Z3 Pill Compact and also the Xperia Z2 Pill ), the actual Z4 Pill can presumably end up being dust- as well as water-resistant.

It would appear that Sony ideas in order to be able for you to help announce the actual Z4 Pill upabout March 3 (upabout the next day‘s MWC 2015 ), even if all of us may begin to see the device inside the flesh a little previously. In fact, it is rather weird with regard to Sony in order to be able for you to help unveil the actual Z4 Pill until the Xperia Z4 smartphone, however it would appear that this really is exactly just precisely the way issues can go anyhow. Source

Sony Xperia E4g

Sony Xperia E4g

Design- and specs-wise, the Xperia E4g is similar to the Xperia E4. Some of the few differences between the two devices is the slightly more powerful 1.5GHz quad-core SoC that can be found inside the Xperia E4g, an upgrade over the 1.3GHz one in the regular Xperia E4, and the LTE connectivity on board of the newcomer. The Xperia E4g also comes with a smaller display - a 4.7-inch display with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels.

Pros

Big display (4.7 inches)
Quad core processor
Fast mobile data support (4G)

Cons

Low pixel density screen (234 ppi)
Too little RAM memory (1024 MB RAM)
Battery is not user replaceable
Low-resolution camera (5 megapixels)

Sony announces the affordable Xperia E4g with LTE connectivity on board

Sony announces the affordable Xperia E4g with LTE connectivity on board

Earlier last month, Sony unveiled the Xperia E4 entrant, an entry-level device that flashed what might end up being Sony's refreshment of its OmniBalance design language (if it decides to stick to churning out smartphones, that is). The humble low-end device came with no LTE on board, but today Sony rights that wrong as it has just announced the Xperia E4g.

Design- and specs-wise, the Xperia E4g is similar to the Xperia E4. Some of the few differences between the two devices are the chipset (a 1.5GHz quad-core MediatTek MT6732 chipset) and just as we mentioned, the LTE connectivity on board of the newcomer.

The Xperia E4g also comes with a smaller display - a 4.7-inch display with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. Naturally, this leads to different dimensions (133 x 71 x 10.8 mm for the E4g vs 137 x 74.6 x 10.5 mm for the E4).

“Xperia E4 set out to bring many of the premium features people expect of Sony to lower-tier devices; Xperia E4g brings that same quality and ease of use – but with super-fast 4G LTE connectivity”, stated Tony McNulty, Value Category Business Management VP with Sony.

Similar to the Xperia E4, the Xperia E4g won't make be sold in the USA. It will launch in other markets starting this April, with a price tag gravitating near the €129 mark (~$145) before taxes and rebates. Similar to the Xperia E4, the Xperia E4g will also have a dual-SIM version. Source

Sony's dual SIM Xperia E4 will have almost the same price as the single SIM variant

Sony's dual SIM Xperia E4 will have almost the same price as the single SIM variant

While Sony hasn't released the Xperia E4 yet, we know that the handset is coming soon (possibly before the end of the month in some markets). Not long ago, we told you that the single SIM variant of the smartphone would cost around $155 in the UK, and now we have info regarding the price of the dual SIM model.

Sony took to Twitter to reveal the official prices of the E4 in Russia: the single SIM variant will cost 10,490 RUB (around $168), while the dual SIM version will be only a tad more expensive: 10,990 RUB (about $176). That's good news for anyone who needs an extra SIM card slot inside a new, affordable handset.

Announced last week, the Xperia E4 is the successor to last year's Xperia E3, though this isn't reflected in its design. The new Xperia has thin bezels, thus, despite the fact that it sports a 5-inch (540 x 960 pixels) display, it's not taller than, say, Apple's 4.7-inch iPhone 6.

Powered by a quad-core 1.3 GHz MediaTek processor, the Xperia E4 will run Android KitKat at launch, with an update to Android Lollipop expected to arrive sometime later. The handset features a 2 MP front-facing camera, a 5 MP rear camera, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of expandable storage space, and a 2300 mAh battery. Source

Best Sony Android phones (2015 edition)

Best Sony Android phones (2015 edition)

In the past few days, we've been hearing about the end of an era as all indications are that Sony will quit its smartphone efforts as it is preparing to spin-off its losing phone and TV divisions, but while that’s still in the not so near future we can take a look at the best of Sony Android phones so far in 2015.

Sony was the most aggressive phone maker in 2014 as it introduced two flagship phones rather than just one, but we don’t expect it to unveil a new top-level handset at the Mobile World Congress in early March. What this means is that you can stick to the options listed below for more than just a couple of months.

We have summarized the best Sony Android phones in every category, starting with premium and going down in price all the way to the most affordable devices. Take a look at our selection right below.

Premium
Sony Xperia Z3

The Xperia Z3 is Sony’s flagship smartphone: a thing of beauty, it consists of a metal frame sandwiched between two piece of glass. The Z3 is extremely well crafted, and it’s also fairly thin at just 0.29” (7.3mm). The phone features a 5.2” 1080p screen, a 20-megapixel camera, and it runs on Snapdragon 801 with 3 gigs of RAM.

Mid-range
Sony Xperia Z3 Compact

The Xperia Z3 Compact is a well-designed phone boasting a 4.6” display in one of the most compact bodies for this size of a device. With minimal side bezel and a captivating translucent finish on the sides, the Z3 Compact is a looker, but visual style is not its only advantage. It is also a powerful device running on Android 4.4 KitKat powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 and featuring a healthy 2GB of RAM.

Sony Xperia T3
Price: $299.99 | Xperia T3 Review

If you’re looking for a more affordable device by Sony, the Xperia T3 arrives at a more alluring price point and it also offers a large 5.3” 720 x 1280-pixel LCD display, a Snapdragon 400 system chip with 1 gig of RAM, as well as an 8-megapixel main camera with a 1.1-megapixel selfie cam on the front.

Affordable
Sony Xperia M2 Aqua

Jumping to Sony’s more affordable phones, the Xperia M2 Aqua stands out with its protection from the elements. It’s got IP68 certification, meaning that it is dust and water-proof up to 1.5 meter and for exposures as long as 30 minutes. For all else, though, the M2 Aqua is a compromise: the biggest one is the screen which is a 4.8-inch one with just 540 x 960-pixel resolution (230ppi). The phone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat, a quad-core Snapdragon 400 system chip with 1GB of RAM, and it’s got an 8-megapixel camera.

Sony Xperia E4

The Xperia E4 is already up for pre-order in many markets, and it is expected to arrive as the new affordable Sony phone. With a 5” qHD display, a quad-core MediaTek chip with 1GB of RAM, and a 5-megapixel camera, the E4 is a true entry-level gadget where price will be essential to its success. Source

New 5.2-inch Sony Xperia smartphone spotted in benchmarks, Android 5.0 Lollipop on board

New 5.2-inch Sony Xperia smartphone spotted in benchmarks, Android 5.0 Lollipop on board

An unannounced 5.2-inch Sony smartphone was recently spotted in a couple of benchmark tests (at Geekbench and GFXBench), this suggesting that we might see the device in the near future. Since the Xperia Z3 also sports a 5.2-inch screen, you may think that this new handset could be the Xperia Z4. However, it's not.

According to the info found at Geekbench and GFXBench, the new Sony smartphone (model number E2303) runs Android 5.0 Lollipop, and is powered by an octa-core, 64-bit Snapdragon 615 processor, while its 5.2-inch display has a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. Other features seemingly include a 12 MP rear camera, a 5 MP front-facing camera, 2 GB of RAM, and only 4 GB of internal memory.

All in all, the Sony E2303 appears to be a mid-range handset - perhaps a successor to last year's Xperia C3 (pictured above), which also has a 5 MP front-facing camera and a 720p display.

Since Sony won't announce the Xperia Z4 at MWC 2015 next month, maybe it will showcase this mysterious E2303 smartphone there. We'll just have to wait and see what happens. Yoursalephones

Sony considers spinning off or selling its smartphone operations

Sony considers spinning off or selling its smartphone operations

It's all about the bottom line, and at Sony it appears that smartphones aren't exactly bringing in massive profits. In fact, the company expects to lose money in 2015 on a net basis for the sixth time out of the last seven years. Company CEO Kazuo Hirai says that his focus for the next three years will be on PlayStation and camera sensors. Doing this will increase operating profit by 2500% over that period, claims the executive. And that means that smartphones and televisions could be the odd-men out at the Japanese manufacturer.

Tough competition from low cost smartphone manufacturers in China and from market leaders like Apple and Samsung, have forced Sony to abandon any hope of growing the business. Hirai said that he would not "rule out considering an exit strategy" for mobile phones and televisions. That strategy could include spinning off the businesses as a new company, or finding a buyer for them.

In October 2011, Ericsson announced that it would sell its share of the Sony Ericsson partnership to Sony. The company appeared to hit pay dirt at CES 2013 with the water resistant Sony Xperia Z. For a short period, Sony was churning out a new flagship model every six months in order to make sure that its top-of-the-line handsets were continuously equipped with the latest specs. While phone buyers were pleased by this strategy, it proved to be very costly for Sony. Hirai says that Sony will no longer look for sales growth from its smartphone business which could lead the company to produce fewer models. "The strategy starting from the next business year will be about generating profit and investing for growth," said the executive.

What if the Nokia 3310 and Sony Ericsson T28s were smartphones? Beautiful renders show us the past re-imagined

What if the Nokia 3310 and Sony Ericsson T28s were smartphones? Beautiful renders show us the past re-imagined

What if the past wasn't what it was? What if some of the most popular phone devices ever created were not featurephones, but smartphones instead? This isn't just a rhetorical question, at least not today, for we have two dozens of absolutely stunning renders of the Nokia 3310 and Sony Ericsson T28s that paint exactly that kind of picture.

Created by 3D designer Martin Hajek, we found something absolutely mesmerizing in these renderings, perhaps because the devices in question don't look half bad even by today's standards, and despite occasionally being shown off in the company of the iPhone 5s. Whether this is the nostalgia in us talking or not will be for you to decide.

Anyways, both devices are shown off with interfaces that make sense today – Windows Phone for the Nokia 3310 and Android for the Ericsson T28s. For whatever reason, however, the 3310 received more attention, for while both UIs were rendered in a bit more authentic, black-and-white, the 3310's is also then rendered in color.

Without any further ado, jump right into the slideshow gallery below and take a peek for yourself. Let us know if you, too, liked what you saw. Source

Sony Xperia E4 gets a price and estimated release date (in the UK)

Sony Xperia E4 gets a price and estimated release date (in the UK)

Officially announced by Sony earlier this week, the Xperia E4 is the company's newest MediaTek-powered smartphone. While Sony didn't reveal its price, we now know that the E4 will be quite affordable. British retailer Clove is asking £99.99 (about $154, or €135) for an unlocked Xperia E4, saying that it's expecting to have it in stock in late March. In other markets, the new handset should be available starting this month, most likely for a similar price. Meanwhile, you can enter this contest and try to win an E4 for free.

Sporting a 5-inch display with 560 x 940 pixels, the Xperia E4 will run Android KitKat at launch, but Sony should update it to Lollipop at some point. One of the handset's highlight features is its 2300 mAh battery that can provide a usage time of up to 2 days. Other than that, the smartphone comes with a 5 MP rear camera, 2 MP front-facing camera, 1 GB of RAM, and 8 GB of expandable internal memory.

The Xperia E4 is very compact for a 5-inch device (for the sake of comparison, the iPhone 6, which sports a 4.7-inch display, is 1 mm taller than the E4, though Sony's handset is thicker and wider). The new Xperia will be available in two color versions: black and white. Any takers? Source

Sony releasing goodies for its SmartWatch 3 – a stainless steel strap and a modular kit to make it compatible with any harness

Sony releasing goodies for its SmartWatch 3 – a stainless steel strap and a modular kit to make it compatible with any harness

Last month, at CES 2015, Sony showcased a stainles steel band-equipped SmartWatch 3 – catering to the ones that prefer contemporary style over the sportish looks of the currently available sillicone-rubber strap. Back then, the best we could get to a launch date for the new straps was "some time in February".

Well, today, Sony has announced that the new "stainless steel edition" of the SmartWatch 3 will be launching globally this week. Now, just a note here – the wearable's chassis has always been made of stainless steel, it's mainly the strap that Sony 's slogan is aimed at.

Current customers will be able to pick up a metal strap some time in the early spring, according to the company's announcement, and, what's even more exciting for wearable fans, Sony will also be launching a modular "holder" kit, which should, reportedly, allow users to attach any watch strap to the SmartWatch 3. The kit will additionally come with a brown / black leather strap for your styling pleasure. Source

Sony Xperia PS is stunning with PlayStation connection

Sony Xperia PS is stunning with PlayStation connection

Every now and then we see an idea for a smartphone that makes our hearts race a little faster, and today we’re showing you the Sony Xperia PS, a stunning design with a PlayStation connection. This is another creation from one of our favorite designers Jermaine Smit, and we think this will blow many other concepts out of the water. We’d really like to know if you agree and whether you’d like to see Sony produce something just like this.

Smit has been coming up with some imaginative smartphone designs with real flair for some time now, and just two of the recent examples he has shared with us are his Sony Xperia Z4 and Sony Xperia Curve visions. This latest is dubbed the Xperia PS as it has a special connection to the PS4, and there’s also a specs list to match its impressive looks.

Imagined specs for the Xperia PS are a Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core display, a 5.9-inch 2K display, 4GB of RAM, and 64 or 128GB of internal storage. The phone has a 20.9-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, a 3500 mAh battery, and comes with four speakers. The build is extremely stylish, with a full metal body and a variety of very attractive colors including red, blue and purple to go with the usual black, gold etc.

A standout feature is its idea of ‘PS4 on the go’ as Smit puts it, as his Xperia PS connects to a PS4 controller for an enhanced mobile gaming experience. We’ve included some of the images of the design within this article but please also check out the YouTube video that we’ve embedded below if you scroll down the page. Smit has put a huge amount of work into this well produced, almost artistic video so do take a look.

We’d be really interested to hear what readers think about this Sony Xperia PS design so do let us have your comments using the box below. Does this vision make your mouth water? Would you snap this smartphone up if it were on the market right now? Source

Sony to use more MediaTek chips for its low to mid-range phones this year

Sony to use more MediaTek chips for its low to mid-range phones this year

According to sources from Taiwan's handset supply chain, Sony is looking to use more chips produced by MediaTek in its low to mid-range models this year. MediaTek is known for its low priced processors that are favored by many value priced smartphone manufacturers in China. For example, let's look at the just announced Sony Xperia E4. As an entry-level model, Sony will pack the device with a quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6582 CPU. The phone will be assembled by Arima and three million units of the 3G connected phone have been ordered.

Foxconn and Compal are said to be building 4G enabled handsets for Sony Mobile that will feature MediaTek's MT6752 processor. This is a 64-bit octa-core CPU that will be found driving these low to mid-range models.

Sony's next flagship phone is expected to be the Sony Xperia Z4. Under the hood of this top-shelf phone will be the 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 CPU. That chip will be powering a large number of flagship models including the HTC One (M9) and the LG G4.

With the Xperia Z4 originally expected to be unveiled at MWC next month, it now appears that Sony does not have a media event scheduled for Barcelona although it will attend the show. Instead of releasing a new flagship model every 6 months as originally believed, it appears that Sony is returning to the one-a-year schedule. With the Sony Xperia Z3 unveiled last September 3rd, an introduction of the Xperia Z4 at MWC would have fit in perfectly with the twice-a-year format.

Sony originally claimed that going to a twice-a-year schedule allowed it to stay more competitive with its rivals. But 70% of those consumers responding to a poll said that they would rather see slower, but more inclusive updates. Source

Sony is confused regarding the Android version of Xperia E4, mentions both Lollipop and KitKat

Sony is confused regarding the Android version of Xperia E4, mentions both Lollipop and KitKat

Earlier today, Sony officially announced the Xperia E4, a new smartphone that looks quite different from the older E series models. Powered by a quad-core MediaTek processor and sporting a 5-inch display with 540 x 960 pixels, the Xperia E4 will obviously not cost too much (though its exact price hasn't been announced yet).

One thing that's not clear about the Xperia E4 is the Android version that it's going to have at launch. According to a post from Sony Developer World, the handset runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat (that's what we had previously reported, too). However, the Xperia E4 product page says Android 5.0 Lollipop is on board. Obviously, we're hoping that the smartphone will run Lollipop. We'll find out if that's the case later this month, when the E4 is supposed to be released in select markets.

Besides a 5-inch screen and a MediaTek processor, the Sony Xperia E4 features a 5 MP rear camera, 2 MP front-facing camera, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of expandable storage space, and a 2300 mAh battery (this should be able to provide up to two days of normal usage). Source

Sony SmartEyeglass apps now available on Google Play

Sony SmartEyeglass apps now available on Google Play

Back in September, Sony announced that it's developing its own eyewear device, called SmartEyeglass. The company said that the wearable gadget would go on sale before the end of March 2015, though since then it didn't provide any updates on the matter. However, the device - which looks bulkier than Google Glass - is certainly coming soon.

Recently, Sony released two official SmartEyeglass apps that can be downloaded via Google Play. They are companion apps that will allow SmartEyeglass users to view Facebook and Twitter content and notifications. In addition, the SmartEyeglass passed the FCC (it needed to, as it features both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth).

Sony hasn't decided how much to ask for the SmartEyeglass. However, just like Google's Glass, the device will most probably be pretty expensive. Sony will make the SmartEyeglass compatible not just with Xperia handsets, but with all smartphones running at least Android 4.1 (though some features will be available only on devices with Android 4.3 or later). The Sony Xperia E4 and its two-day battery announced by Sony

The Sony Xperia E4 and its two-day battery announced by Sony

Some smartphones come into the spotlight with a bang while others quietly get released without much fanfare. That happened with the Moto E 4G LTE edition last night, and now the Sony Xperia E4 and E4 Dual have shown up sans announcement.

The Sony Xperia E4 showed up in December where we got a look at some of the specs and a leaked photo thought to show the upcoming handset. Well, that photo was dead on the money and so were the specs, which means the Xperia E4 is a midrange handset with a couple of interesting features.

The Sony Xperia E4 will get it’s power from a quad-core MediaTek chip clocked a 1.3GHz and backed by 1GB of RAM. We finally know what the storage capacity is, and it’s better than expected at 8GB with a microSD card slot. As for the display, the Xperia E4 will have a 5-inch panel with a resolution of 540 x 960.

Other specs to note on the Sony Xperia E4 include a 5MP rear camera, 2MP front-facing camera, Bluetooth, WiFi, and 3G. The E4 packs a 2,300mAh battery under the hood as well which is said to provide a two-day guarantee thanks to Stamina mode. The smartphone will run Android 4.4 (we think) and there’s a dual-SIM variant as well called the Sony Xperia E4 Dual.

There has been no release date set for the Sony Xperia E4 or its dual-SIM variant, but product pages are up for the handsets and the Xperia E4 was “announced” through Sony’s official blog. You’ll be able to pick one up in Black or White when it arrives, which should be soon considering MWC 2015 is right around the corner. Sony

Sony Xperia E4

Sony Xperia E4

Specs-wise, the Xperia E4 is as upper entry-level as it gets. A 5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels will try to seduce your eyesight and a quad-core MediatTek MT6582 chipset, clocked at up to 1.3GHz, will cater to your needs. The Xperia E4 also comes with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of native storage (roughly 5 of which are available to the user), a microSD card slot, a 5MP rear camera, and a 2MP front-facing selfie snapper. We have no LTE on board, but at least the device comes in two versions - single- and dual-SIM ones. The OS of choice is Android 4.4.4 KitKat. Read More>

Sony's Xperia Z4 may have been benchmarked, Android Lollipop and Snapdragon 810 CPU included

Sony's Xperia Z4 may have been benchmarked, Android Lollipop and Snapdragon 810 CPU included

While Sony might not announce its Xperia Z4 before the summer, it seems that the handset has already been tested on Geekbench. The Geekbench website now lists a mysterious Sony device that runs Android 5.0.2 Lollipop and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm MSM8994 processor - which is none other than the Snapdragon 810.

Qualcomm already confirmed that we'd see the Snapdragon 810 chipset in future Sony products, and the Xperia Z4 is likely the first to use it - that's why we assume that the device benchmarked now is the Z4. Of course, we might be wrong on this one.

The Geekbench webpage also suggests that the new Sony handset has 3 GB of RAM.

If we're to believe some recent rumors, Sony is readying two Xperia Z4 versions: one with a Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) display, and another one with a 1080p screen. Obviously, the latter should offer longer battery life, being the logical choice for users who don't think a Quad HD screen offers significant benefits. Source

So, who's waiting for the Xperia Z4?

Sony Xperia E4 shows up again, could be announced next month

Sony Xperia E4 shows up again, could be announced next month

Sony will most likely not unveil any flagship smartphones at MWC 2015 next month. Instead, one of the handsets that it should present there is the Xperia E4. First seen in December in a series of leaked photos, the E4 showed up again this week - this time in two renders that come from a case maker.

The new images seem to confirm the fact that the Xperia E4 has thin bezels, unlike its predecessor, the Xperia E3.

As previously reported, the Xperia E4 should sport a 5-inch display with 540 x 960 pixels, and could cost less than $200. It's said that the smartphone is powered by a quad-core 1.3 GHz MediaTek processor, while also featuring 1 GB of RAM, a 5 MP rear camera with flash, 2 MP front-facing camera, and 8 GB of expandable internal memory. Since the Xperia E3 offers two-day battery life, we expect the E4 to have a great battery, too.

Starting March, Sony should release both single SIM, and dual SIM versions of the Xperia E4. While the handset may run Android KitKat at launch, an update to Android Lollipop seems to be scheduled for later this year. Interested? Source

Sony to close down its Music Unlimited streaming service, Spotify will pick up the slack

Sony to close down its Music Unlimited streaming service, Spotify will pick up the slack

Seeing that Sony operates the world’s second largest record label and other major music publishing businesses, it is a remarkable turn of events to see the company announce that its separately operated streaming music service, called Music Unlimited, will shut down at the end of March.

The $10-per-month subscription service is one of the largest in operating in Japan, and has been available in the United States for four years. Music Unlimited is integrated with a number of Sony products like PlayStation, and Xperia smartphones.

Once the month of March passes, Music Unlimited subscriptions will not renew, and the service will go silent. In its place, Spotify will be the streaming music content for Sony products. Sony did not state how many subscribers would be affected by this move, but the grapevine is saying the paid subscriber base was just over 100,000 users.

At $10-per-month, and with access to pretty much the same 30 million title library as Google Play All Access, Apple’s Beats Music, Spotify, Slacker, Rdio, Rhapsody, and Deezer, Sony’s Music Unlimited did little to stand out from the crowded music streaming market.

Spotify is the biggest of the bunch with about 15 million paid subscribers, and another 45 million free users. It will feed to Sony’s PlayStation consoles, and be available on Xperia devices. The service will be renamed PlayStation Music. Oddly, Spotify itself is not available in Japan, and Sony has not yet announced what will provide the content for its home market.

This is not the first paring down and consolidation for the streaming music industry, AT&T’s Cricket had a service called Muve which was acquired by France’s Deezer. Deezer is currently not available in the US, and Muve will go dark on February 7th.

Sony to close down its Music Unlimited streaming service, Spotify will pick up the slack
Sony arguably made a good move all things considered, and Music Unlimited’s chief, Michael Aragon said in 2012, “It’s going to be a brutal business and there’s probably going to be some consolidation. We all have the same content, we all have the same deals.”

It is not known how big a boost it will give Spotify, the company’s CEO Daniel Elk says it looks like there is quite a bit of overlap between Spotify customers and a large portion of the 64 million PlayStation and other Sony users. Source
