Micromax's Cyanogen OS-based Yu Yureka sold out in seconds again
Remember the Yu Yureka, Micromax's Cyanogen OS-based smartphone that was released earlier this month in India? The handset is definitely a hit: 10,000 units were sold today in 3 seconds - following two previous sales that saw another 10,000 units, and 15,000 units, respectively, being also purchased in mere seconds. Overall, Micromax sold 35,000 Yureka handsets in less than 10 seconds (though in different days) - this being something that many companies can't brag about.
It's not hard to see why Indian customers are crazy about the Yu Yureka. The smartphone costs $145, but offers features that you usually find on pricier devices: a 5.5-inch 720p display, LTE connectivity, 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of expandable internal memory, and a 13 MP rear camera.
Micromax is one of India's leading smartphone makers. It established the Yu brand in order to exclusively develop and sell Cyanogen OS-based handsets, and it's definitely off to a very good start - thanks in no small part to the fact that it's using the Xiaomi model (i.e. flash sales). The Yu Yureka will be on sale again on February 5, only on Amazon India. Source
